Activating communities individual award
The Activating Communities – Individual Award is presented to an individual who goes the extra mile within their community by supporting others to participate in physical activity and providing innovative opportunities that make a difference.
Winner of the award goes to someone who has helped shape up Wyre through exercise classes! She is a truly amazing instructor who makes all attendees feel very welcome. These can often be some of the most socially isolated and vulnerable people in the community. She creates an environment which is friendly and understanding, whilst being approachable and friendly to all involved. This alongside her vast knowledge and experience in the health and wellbeing industry has allowed her to excel in creating classes that are challenging, informative, beneficial but most importantly huge fun!
She puts on various free taster sessions in the community including a cancer rehabilitation group, she has also helped raise money for a portable defibrillator in just 1 week for a local community setting.
Her selfless attitude towards helping people and huge array of expertise in exercise and fitness has helped hundreds of people in the borough lose weight, gain strength, improve flexibility, reduce risk of long term illness and improve their mental wellbeing.
She truly is a remarkable advocate for Wyre, and a fitting winner.
The winner of the Activating Communities – Individual is Julie Brooks.
