Volunteer of the year award
The Volunteer of The Year Award is given to a volunteer who has given up their free time to promote and support active lifestyles in a non-coaching capacity at a traditional sports or activity club. Volunteers are the backbone of majority of clubs in the borough, not just those on the playing pitches but those in the background who work incredibly hard to provide opportunities for people of all ages in the borough. The winner is someone who started off as parent taking their daughter to boxing sessions, which very quickly became a 5 day commitment to the club. As well as working full time and supporting her family, she gives her time supporting the club by organising the office, the books collecting fees etc. She recently assisted in applying for grants and promoting the gyms facilities to try and gain new members. She is very approachable and assists with so many things. The coaches, the parents and the attendees and look at her as extended family, and can’t imagine Fleetwood Gym Amateur Boxing Club without her.
The Winner of the Volunteer of The Year Award is Kelly Stead.
