Health and wellbeing award
The Health & Wellbeing Award shines a light on those supporting others with their physiological health, mental wellbeing, health management or any of the wider outcomes supported by physical activity and sport, emphasising the vital role that being physically active plays in supporting health outcomes.
The winner is an organisation who have established huge links across Wyre through a variety of projects. The trust works hard to improve our communities health and well-being in a variety of ways and the Community Team which comprises of 11 members is right at the heart of this mission. Be Active Stay Healthy provides activities such as gardening ad coffee mornings. Fit for the Future is a health related programme designed to support local residents of Wyre, aged 60+ years old, to be more active and lead an increasingly healthy and fulfilling life. They have ran Fat2Fit courses, a football programme for men trying to lose weight, as well as Free blood pressure checks in the community. This alongside various partnership working with charities and other business to promote healthy lifestyles and making people aware of the opportunities available to them.
