Young achiever of the year award
The Young Achiever of the Year award is for some of the most talented performers across the County, who show exceptional dedication to their sport and have the potential to perform at the highest level. Wyre has had some incredible achievers this year across a broad range of sports from Football, to Hockey to Swimming and many more and we have had the impossible job of narrowing those young people who have all excelled in their sports down to a final 2.
The winner of our Young Achiever award is someone exceptionally talented, excelling in her netball career at a young age. She has climbed the netball performance pathway from for the past 3 years at England Netball Super league franchises including Manchester Thunder and Leeds Rhinos. As part of these programme she attends twice weekly training along with strength and conditioning, nutrition and psychology sessions which support her development ready for the U17 National Premier League which combines the most talented athletes across the country.
This season, she has been successfully selected onto the U17 Leeds Rhinos NPL squad (2 years above her age) as well as also trialling for the Scotland National U15 squad and has been successful in a being offered a place and has started playing and competing on behalf her home nation.
In addition, she also represents Wyre Netball Club in the NW Regional Championship squad which is an open age banded competition where she regularly steps up against oppositions much older than herself.
Finally, she is also a core part of Wyre Netball Clubs junior coaching team and in between her very busy schedule of training and travel she supports coaching the next generation at our grass root sessions across Wyre with coaching and umpiring. She is an outstanding role mole for aspiring girls in sport, and a worthy winner.
