What personal information do we collect?
The information collected from you may include the following:
- Name, address
- Telephone number and email addresses
- National Insurance number
- Nationality
- Date of birth
- The reason you may require a postal or proxy vote
- Further evidence from you such as copies of your passport, marriage certificate, deed poll document or photocard driving licence.
You provide us with this information when you fill out the Annual Canvass with one of our staff members or complete one of our paper application forms to register to vote, change your name or apply for an absent vote. If you have completed your registration using an online form at Gov.uk, your personal information will be passed to us by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.
