Why do we have your personal data?
Different council departments collect and use your personal data to perform their functions. You can find out more about the information that is collected and how it is used in each project or service’s Privacy Notice. You may request this information (known as a Data Subject Access Request or DSAR under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. We must reply to your request within time limits set out in law. Data protection law also gives you rights over your personal data such as the right to rectify any errors or request your data be deleted etc. We need your personal information in order to deal with any requests you make to us.
The council must also respond to requests made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOI) and Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIR). These laws mean you can request copies of information that is held by or on behalf of the council. We need your contact details so we can.
