Introduction
Wyre Council is exploring options for an artist installation at Poulton-le-Fylde train station, Lancashire and would like to invite local artists to quote for the project.
Poulton-le-Fylde is Wyre’s only rail link and is therefore considered the gateway to Wyre.
Our vision is for an artistic installation inside the train station which welcomes visitors to Wyre and through its visuals, offers a glimpse into the varied landscapes, things to do and places to visit across the borough.
The artistic installation should also offer an engaging photo opportunity, not only for visitors to the area but also to complement the thriving evening economy in Poulton-le-Fylde, offering a new “Instagrammable” spot.
This project is funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and aims to develop and promote (both trade and consumer) the visitor economy, such as, local attractions, trails, tours and tourism products more generally. This will be measured through the asset created, numbers of people reached and website searches, and any increase in visitor numbers.
