Understanding your community's carbon footprint
The Impact Community Carbon Calculator allows you to compare your community's carbon footprint, at a parish, ward or local authority level. Type in your location or postcode, and use the tabs at the top of the page to see the yearly footprint per-household, or as a total for the area. These are shown as either:
- Consumption emissions - all emissions caused by residents of the area, regardless of where they occur (including consumption of food, manufactured goods, travel, housing and waste)
- Territorial emissions - all emissions occurring within the area (including all industry, agriculture and transport activity within the area)
You can also view sub-categories to see how many emissions are released. Further analysis is available in our May 2021 carbon footprint report.
