Provision of Retail and Commercial Leisure Capacity Study (2024)

The Council has recently commissioned Nexus Planning to carry out a ‘Retail and Commercial Leisure Capacity Study’ to update the Councils retail evidence base which currently comprises the Fylde coast retail study (2011) and update (2013). Part of this new Study will involve householder telephone surveys to gain information that will help the Council to better understand residents’ shopping and leisure habits. NEMS Market Research will conduct the householder survey, and households chosen to take part will be randomly selected. Calls may occur during the day, evening or weekend. The householder telephone surveys are expected to run between Thursday 19 September to around Friday 11 October.

Whilst households who receive a call are encouraged to take part, anyone contacted by NEMS Market Research is not obliged to take part in the survey if they do not wish to do so. Please note, the Council does not require personal details of any participants in the householder telephone surveys.

Information on when the Council’s Planning Services collect personal data and how we use personal data can be found in the Councils Privacy Notice- Planning Services.

Anyone who has any queries about the householder telephone surveys can contact Planning Policy on 01253 887373 or email planning.policy@gov.uk.
