CCTV volunteering

We are inviting volunteers to help make their community a safer place by monitoring Wyre and Fylde Councils' CCTV cameras based at the Civic Centre in Poulton.

As a volunteer for Wyre CCTV, you would be:

  • benefitting the community by providing a sense of security for the public
  • helping to prevent crime and make the streets safer
  • meeting new people and learning more about your local community

Working times are flexible, so you could work in the day or evening, on a weekday or weekend. The work is varied and interesting, and includes a social element and outside activities.

Applicants are subject to security vetting, and completion of a satisfactory training period. There is a minimum literacy and numeracy skills requirement for an applicant to complete the training successfully, and these will be discussed at the introduction session.

How to volunteer

If you are interested in volunteering for one of our events or activities, please e-mail us at volunteering@wyre.gov.uk, and we can arrange a time for an informal chat.
