Travelling Showpeople and Transit Provision for Gypsies and Travellers Call for Sites
Following on from previous Call for Sites exercises earlier this year, the council undertook a specific Call for Sites for Travelling Showpeople and Transit Provision for Gypsies and Travellers to inform the on-going review of the council’s Local Plan. Through this specific Call for Sites exercise, the council invited landowners, agents, developers, community groups and others with an interest in delivering Travelling Showpeople yards or transit sites for Gypsies and Travellers to submit land for inclusion in the reviewed Local Plan as sites for Travelling Showpeople and transit sites for Gypsies and Travellers.
A Call for Sites form was used to submit proposed sites. The council also produced a guidance note that explained this exercise in more detail.
Please note that submitting a site would not guarantee that the council will allocate or designate it, or support its development in the future. All sites will need to be judged against relevant planning policies and other considerations. Until such time as any site is formally allocated, any submissions will have no weight as a material planning consideration in the determination of planning applications.
