Applications are open now for the latest round of the Household Support Fund

Applications are open now for the latest round of the Household Support Fund.

Wyre residents can make an application using the online form at www.wyre.gov.uk/householdsupport from Monday 3 June and the scheme closes on the 30 September 2024 or before if funding is spent.

Wyre Council has received just over £400,000 from Lancashire County Council for the latest Household Support Fund. The Household Support Fund can provide short-term financial help for people struggling to pay for essentials such as food, heating and water. Over the past 3 years, the Council has supported thousands of economically vulnerable families, paying out over £2,234,000 in the form of supermarket vouchers, Post Officer vouchers and cash payments. As well as helping families, the Council is also supporting 7 local foodbanks and a domestic violence charity. Many of these organisations would not be able to offer the services they do without the funding of the Household Support Fund.

The fund is aimed at assisting households that are experiencing financial difficulties due to the increasing costs of living, such as bills for energy and water, food, and wider essentials. Eligibility for this support is not restricted to those receiving benefits, but it is intended for those who are encountering financial hardship.
