As part of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), Wyre Council have teamed up with the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce.
Offering free expert advice and support to businesses helping them to make a plan to transition to Net Zero and achieve their low-carbon ambitions.
Businesses of any size in Wyre can make a commitment to Net Zero and East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce will be delivering their award winning ‘Chamber Low Carbon’ programme to businesses who need expert advice and support in transitioning to Net Zero and developing their decarbonisation plans.
Decarbonisation is a tool to get to Net Zero and involves devising and implementing new and innovative methods to reduce carbon emissions. A business with a decarbonisation plan demonstrates their commitment to reducing their carbon footprint and enables them to be one step ahead of competitors, saving money on energy and other associated costs.
Businesses in Wyre are encouraged to sign up to the award-winning ‘Chamber Low Carbon’ programme, which can provide free, tailored support to:
- Calculate and reduce your carbon footprint
- Reduce costs and improve performance
- Advise on the installation of on-site renewable energy
- Upskill and train workers
- Help you develop low carbon technology and innovation, and bring these products to market
- Attend best practice events with other local businesses
Over a dozen businesses in Wyre have already taken advantage of this free business support. If your business is in Wyre and you would like to better understand decarbonisation, get support with your low-carbon ambitions and reduce costs, this free support will be available until March 2025.

East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce have a wealth of experience in this field, delivering low-carbon business support programmes since 2018, engaging with more 1,000 small and medium enterprises across Lancashire. The success of their programmes earned them the title of ‘Best Climate Project’ at the 2021 World Chambers Congress.
