Procurement

Wyre council contracts with a number of external suppliers for the provision of goods, works and services. To enable all suppliers to be treated equally, fairly and given the same opportunities to tender for contracts, we have a duty to ensure that procurement processes are adhered to.

Contract opportunities

The latest contracts are available to view in the Chest supplier portal for local authorities in the North West. On this page you need to select 'Wyre council' as the organisation and click 'Search' This will then show you the relevant results.

Before you get started, please read the following resources:

Supplier Electronic Portal

Wyre has implemented a Supplier Portal (the Chest), which has been developed for the 46 North West councils by the Regional Centre of Excellence. The Portal enables all suppliers to register their capability on a single regional website where they can register once. Registration on the Portal will allow Local Authority buyers to match their requirements against registered suppliers. The system will also enable quotations and tenders to be actioned electronically, and for suppliers to receive alerts for business.

For details of the site and how to register visit the Proactis website.

Registering and using the portal is free of charge. If the closing date for expressions of interest has passed, no more applications will be considered.

Contracts register

The National Procurement Strategy sets out the requirement for every local authority to maintain a corporate register of contracts. The Contract Register makes the job of buying goods and services easier, quicker, more efficient and more cost-effective for councils in the North West.

Wyre council contracts register contains an overview of all the contracts awarded by the council for goods, works and services via the supplier portal (Chest) for all contracts and purchase orders over £5000. Publishing the register demonstrates that the council is committed to transparency in the procurement of contracts, and to supporting local suppliers in applying for council contracts when they fall due.

Wyre council expects all existing and prospective contractors to adhere to the Equality Act 2010. For details on the act can be found by visiting Gov.uk - Equality Act 2010
