Registering to vote if you live in Wyre
You can register to vote online here:
When registering to vote, you will be need to provide your date of birth and National Insurance number. Your name and address will appear on the electoral register after your application has been verified and approved. If you do not want to appear on the electoral register, there is the option to register anonymously, for more information on this please visit the Government website.
Who can register
To register to vote, you must be:
- aged 16 or over
- a British citizen
- an Irish or EU citizen living in the UK
- a Commonwealth citizen who has permission to enter or stay in the UK, or who does not need permission
Voting if you move or live abroad
You can register as an overseas voter in Wyre if you:
- are a British citizen, or an eligible Irish citizen registering to vote in Northern Ireland, and
- were registered to vote in the Borough prior to moving abroad, less than 15 years ago.

From 16 January 2024 there will be some changes introduced for overseas voters. This will include removal of the 15 year time limit, extend the renewal period and changes to the qualifying criteria. For more information on voting in the UK if you live overseas visit the Government website.
