Hardship relief
Under Section 49 of the Local Government Finance Act 1998 the council can provide either partial or full relief for non-domestic rate payments in cases of hardship, where it would be reasonable to do so, and having due regard to the interests of council tax payers.
The council will consider applications for hardship relief from individuals and organisations based on their own merits on a case by case basis. Applications will be considered by the Head of Finance.
When deciding whether to award hardship relief, as well as being confident that the organisation is experiencing hardship, the principle consideration will be that any relief is in best interests of taxpayers in Wyre, as the council must bear the cost of any relief granted.
Please contact the council for any further details.
